Hunt. Or be hunted.
This is the life of a criminal in Dividium. Do the crime? And you are sentenced to the prison of Endlock for life. Where the wealthy from the Upper can pay to hunt you. Pay to take your life.
Pay to instill justice in Dividium.
Raven has always led a quiet life in the Lower part of Dividium... or it was quiet, until her parents were taken to Endlock for being part of the rebellion... and hunted for sport. Now, Raven is one of the most notorious bounty hunters known... living on the edge of society... doing what she has to in an attempt to keep her and her brother safe... even if that means sentencing others to a fate in Endlock.
Until one day, her brother Jed gets taken to Endlock. Grabbed as he was going to work after she tried to discourage him from joining the rebellion that is known as the Collective.
Suddenly, Raven finds herself working right alongside the rebellion she so tried to keep her brother from joining... in a desperate attempt to save Jed from the cruel grasp of Endlock...and from his inevitable doom.
She finds herself on her way to Endlock... having to use every single one of her senses to try to keep both her and her brother alive...
And in the least likely place to find love... she finds love...
As a lover of all things dystopian, call me blown away... Brooke Fast has created the perfect mix of The Hunger Games, Divergent, or.... honestly any dystopian that can blend the fast-paced, often high-stakes elements that come with dystopian worlds perfectly with a deep sense of emotion. Of trying to find oneself again, of that journey that often comes with attempting to open oneself up to others ... something that I find so relatable and personal... and then layering an immensely detailed, complex political system on top of it, Brooke uses these elements seamlessly in this masterfully woven novel...
Fast-paced, and heart-pounding To Cage A Wild Bird will keep you glued to every single page and leave you yearning for more. If you are looking for your next dystopian obsession... definitely preorder this.
