The Sleepless is a bewitching tale that will catch you off guard with its delicious twists and turns and is truly one of the most unique works that I've been given the privilege of reading this year. It starts off normal, and unassuming, but soon you will find yourself deeply wrapped up in the tale of our two main characters, the Serpent child Elver, and then the Sleepless monk Artair (or Lucian, as he is known in the Other Form) on a high-stakes journey to save Artair's friends, who have been kidnapped by Mother Maura ... Jen does a fantastic job in pacing, and in giving each character their own part of this vast tale... while weaving in the perfect touch of romance, of learning about oneself, and an adorable keltraxia cub who I totally want to kidnap even though I'd get bit in the process...
