A cynical shapeshifter.
A hopeful princess.
A love they never saw coming...
Beautiful, magical, and at the same time, mysterious in the best of way, Sonnets & Serpents deserves praise I am not sure I am capable of putting into physical words just how amazing this novel is, and just how perfect of a sequel (or is it side novel?) it is to Casters & Crowns. Once you start it, it is difficult to put down until you have reached the very end. This is not only a tale of unlikely love between two unlikely characters of the love that blossoms between Silas and Eliza but is a tale that also explores topics much deeper... topics of diversity... of understanding and accepting instead of just outright fearing or being scared of something that you are not familiar with. It is a tale that tells us it is ok to be who we are... even with our flaws.
That love is a choice for each of us to make... and is so much more than just an emotion or a feeling.
Ultimately, this book shows us that life is messy and is never without mistakes.
Sonnets & Serpents is beautifully written and has its moments where it will make you smile, and others that will send your heart racing.... there are witty moments, moments to where you need to really think things through, and beautiful characters and wording that made me fall in love with it more and more and wishing I could reread it as I reached the end.
