Touch her, and you will die.
Umm... holy stars. To say the least... or, embracing my inner chaos gremlin like the author so seems to in her note before this novel started.... holy eff.
Giving notes of a darker version of Twilight or Crave... mashed with Game of Thrones..., Kate has spun a delightfully sinful, extra spicy (no, seriously, this will make your cheeks tint red with how steamy some situations can get...) ... and I cannot think of a better read to accompany you on a dark night... or whenever two very morally black vampires sound like company you would fancy...
(or morally grey, depending on your choice of men...)
Nessa has always known her fate. Nearing thirty, she has not fulfilled the so-called "birth debt" and has not found a husband to keep her company. She has always known that she will eventually end up as a thrall for the Azarasian vampires.
When the Harvest rolls around, the thing that she fears to happen, happens. Her sister, pregnant with an unborn child, is chosen as part of the Harvest. In her franticness to save her unborn niece or nephew from what she views as a cruel fate, Nessa volunteers in her sister's stead. Volunteers herself to the fate that she knew she was eventually resigned to...
She becomes Luc and Jules' Mortal Bride... She is to become the bind that provides all magic to the Azarasians. But after the ceremony... she finds out that she is so much more than the normal thrall in service to the vampires.... not just a thrall in service to their Kings... but their soulbond.... and their heartmate...
Prepare to have your heart stolen by Lucs' smile, and by Jules' smirk...prepare to be infuriated, and to be smiling like an idiot .... I do not know what wicked brew you have concocted, Kate, but I find myself already yearning for the second novel of Bloodbourne Court when the time comes...
