To say that I was utterly disappointed is a blatant understatement.

In fact, I feel as if I am being too nice to say that it was an utter disappointment.

For what is promised to be some sort of epic romantasy between a vampire and a mortal bride... a sacrifice of sorts called the Wedding of the Dead? Quests through the afterlife akin to Hades and Persephone? I was so ready to fall in love. To be utterly entranced.

Unfortunately, I was not ready for the sheer amount of chaos that this novel is.

For one, the structure is non-existent. There are no neat chapters, no unique ways to distinguish between POVs, it's just PARTS. And only four of them, one of which lasted a good HALF of the book. My poor ADHD wanted to flip a table by about 30 pages in... and I had to start pacing myself by the time I reached half of the book, because by that time, I wanted to toss it at a wall (figuratively speaking, cause I'm not going to actually throw my phone.)

The romance feels extremely fake; from the way it started to the way it seemed to be almost instantly in love... and almost no actual way to distinguish any plot that led up to romance. There is barely any character development, and the book just seems so dead and repetitive at times that I so wanted to just give up and move on to something else so many times...

And then let's not even mention the editing, because by gods.... this book desperately needs to be edited so it doesn't appear to be the product of a delusional fever dream. The storyline as a whole just desperately needs to be looked at and thought over in full... parts that seem to be repetitive throughout need to be condensed or edited for clarity... and just... this wasn't for me. By the time I was reaching the ending I couldn't anymore.

Unless somehow this is edited and further polished... this definitely was not for me.
